At Araucaria, we promote the active interaction between our students and local residents of Buenos Aires during our classes as we try to achieve a rapid cultural immersion by taking students out of the classroom and performing tasks out on the streets. On these “Day out Lessons” we head out to visit Buenos Aires’ oldest café, Café Tortoni, where our students undergo activities and obtain information about the place’s most famous people.
We ask for directions on how to get to Plaza de Mayo and we uncover this famous square’s most symbolic buildings. We continue to ‘La Boca’ and embrace the spirit of the colourful buildings and vivid history. We will get the opportunity to visit the World Famous Boca Juniors Stadium, and the remarkable museums and bars of the area.
In Recoleta, we will explore the famous Cemetery and walk among its impressive mausoleums. We may also head to the Museum of Fine Arts (Museo de Bellas Artes) or the Cultural Centre (Centro Cultural), both of which have free entry.
